The Renfrew District Food Bank is a very crucial part of our community. They help feed plenty of local families and it is important that we continue to support them. With this being said, there is some new and exciting news for the food bank that will allow members of the community to help even more families.
The food bank has recently purchased the Salvation Army Church in Renfrew. The church has a fully equipped kitchen and hall. An extra addition will be added to the church shortly as well. This new space will now allow for plenty of new opportunities including a possible soup kitchen, cooking classes, and room for even more donations. Moving forward, the food bank will also be able to operate the Angel Tree and other programs that the Salvation Army previously hosted.
A tour of their new location:
If you would like to show your support and help out your community, there is a fundraiser happening that anyone can participate in. The food bank is hosting a Pampered Chef fundraiser in order to stock their new kitchen. They have created a registry of needed products that you can support them with. You can also purchase items for yourself and the proceeds will be donated to the food bank. The event began on June 17 and will continue until June 29, so make sure to place your orders before then.
